Women In Animation VO Group
Meetings in LA: Mic Time & More
Feb. 20, 2008

Network, learn and enhance your voice-over skills at Los Angeles chapter meetings of  the Voice-Over Group of Women In Animation (WIA).

Voice actor and teacher Gary Gillett is guest director at the next meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 27, held from 7 to 10 p.m. at Dave & Dave, 44421 Lankershim Blvd., Toluca Lake (Los Angeles). Free street parking is available after 6 p.m. Non-members are welcome. The cost: $20 non-members; $15 members.

"In three hours we will address many of your talents, skills and expert capabilities," says group moderator Wendell Washer, voice talent and animator.

"We will bring your dazzling display of thespian achievements to even greater glory! Prepare to be amazed at how even more accomplished and brilliant you can be."

WIA is an international non-profit organization of creative people, established in 1994 for women in "any and all aspects of the art and industry of animation," the WIA blogspot explains. Members enjoy educational opportunities, including workshops, meetings and panels.

Networking with animators, production managers, writers and other voice actors is another plus for attending meetings.

Besides the "very active" Los Angeles chapter, WIA's North America chapters are in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Canada.
