Alan Kalter Hosts THAT'S VOICEOVER!
Star-Filled Career Event Sept. 22, NYC
August 30, 2010

Any day or night in New York City's Times Square - the bustling Broadway Theatre District - you might catch a glimpse of a celebrity.

But on Wednesday night, Sept. 22, you'll actually meet, greet and learn from voice over celebrities and behind-the-scenes pros, at THAT'S VOICEOVER! - a unique interactive career event at The Times Center, 242 West 41st Street.

Hosted by Alan Kalter (pictured), of The Late Show with David Letterman, THAT'S VOICEOVER! features top talent revealing practical steps to establishing and sustaining a career in voice over.

A first-of-its-kind AUDITION SPOTLIGHT segment will give attendees a chance to win an actual voice over job.

And with targeted Q&A, audience participation and audition scenarios, this event is an ideal experience for both working voice over professionals and persons of any age who are considering a career in voice over - as a voice talent or in a supporting role including producer, writer, director and agent.

It all starts at 6 p.m., but earlier arrival lets you mingle with working pros. And the after-event networking / hors d'oeruvres reception features meet-and-greet opportunities with the stars and more.

Registration is available now at the event website: http://thatsvoiceover.com.

BY RUDY AND JOAN

THAT'S VOICEOVER! is the brainchild of award-winning producers and Push Creative owners Rudy Gaskins and Joan Baker (pictured), who present this show across the U.S. in museums, universities and at various other public forums.

Baker is also author of the best-selling book, Secrets of Voiceover Success.

"It's been an evolving national success, engaging  a whole new audience of voice actors and entertainment professionals," Gaskins explains.

"Attendees range from youths seeking a first career to a variety of professionals looking for a career change," he adds.

FOR WORKING PROS ...

A key to THAT'S VOICEOVER! is that, in addition to voice talent, it also attracts producers, buyers and agents "who are the link between the voice talent and actual work," explains Gaskins (pictured).

And that provides a great opportunity for working professionals.

"First and foremost, they'll learn how to get back to basics to reignite aspects of their careers," Gaskins says.

"They'll be reminded of what first inspired their passions.

"VO pros will also learn what's on the minds of the people who are hiring, casting and representing voice over actors today, and they'll learn what companies are providing the services and equipment that is most relevant to the profession."

AN INSPIRING NIGHT

"But this event is not just about learning," Gaskins adds. "It's also about applying your people skills - networking with the players who can make a difference in your career.

"Finally, it's about being inspired - rejuvenating the spirit we all need to overcome the challenges that any career presents, especially one that leaves you as vulnerable as acting."
