Johnna Gottlieb’s Unique Online UCLA Class
Begins April 14 ... Exclusive Q&A Thursday
March 22, 2010

A VoiceOverXtra telephone chat with Johnna Gottlieb, a former voice-over agent and now a popular voice-over career consultant, has led to dozens of transcribed pages of info about succeeding in this business today.

Naturally we’ll share this wisdom with you, and Part 1 of a series of reports from this Q&A begins soon.

But first, since a registration deadline looms, here’s a word about Gottlieb and her online course on the voice-over business, set to begin April 14.

Based in New York City, Johnna Gottlieb Consulting is a unique company that taps into Gottlieb’s many years of experience at top talent agencies, representing major artists and celebrity actors with voice-over careers.

She supplied voice talent for high-profile TV programs, including signature announcers, documentary narrators, and voice talent for commercials and audiobooks.

ONLINE UCLA COURSE

As an educator, she has taught voice-over at New York University and Syracuse University, and her UCLA (University of California / Los Angeles) online course, How to Become A Successful VoiceOver Artist, begins its second year on April 14.

“I teach because I love it,” she explains. “With 20 years of experience in the industry, I’m committed to spreading accurate information about how to develop one’s voice-over career.”

The UCLA course is truly unique – a virtual, limited enrollment classroom community, complete with discussion forums – detailing all aspects of the voice-over business, from marketing to pay to home studio.

“Online learning is the greatest thing, because you can do it on your own schedule,” Gottlieb explains.

"You don’t have to physically show up at class time. I post assignments and lectures, and the forums are always open to generate discussion.”

The six class sessions run from April 14 to May 19, and students will “meet” guests including top voice-over talent, agents, casting directors and producers.

“I’ve had past students go on to be signed with the major agencies after utilizing the information they learned in my class,” says Gottlieb.
